ROSIE WESTBROOK

Rosie Westbrook is a Melbourne-based multi-instrumentalist and composer. Classically trained in guitar and double bass, she has worked with numerous Australian and international musicians: Mick Harvey (ex-Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds); Sean Kelly (Models); Kim Deal (Pixies); Thomas Wydler (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds); Beate Bartel (founding member Einstürzende Neubauten); Amaury Cambuzat (Ulan Bator/Faust); Dave Graney & Clare Moore; Rob Snarski (Black-Eyed Susans).

Rosie has released two solo CDs: 'Wave' and 'Big As The Ocean'. In recent years she has worked increasingly as a composer for film and television and has produced soundtracks for a number of documentary films profiling contemporary Australian visual artists: Jon Cattapan; Lindy Lee; Del Kathryn Barton and Patricia Piccinini.

Rosie has also been performing a solo live set featuring electric guitar, double bass and whatever else she can get her hands on. This includes performances specifically composed for exhibitions of particular artists - in 2015/16 this has included a number of performances at TarraWarra Museum of Art for exhibitions of modern Australian art; The Triumph of Modernism; Howard Arkley & Friends and Panorama. In 2016, Rosie has also been commissioned to do a series of performances for the Australian Tapestry Workshop. Her latest album is 'Always the Sea'.
