Glenys Hewett is the talented younger sister of Colleen. Her singing career began in Bendigo with a band called The Lonely Ones at the age of 13. She then gained prominent exposure working with the Laurie Allen Revue. In 1969 Glenys went to entertain the troops in Vietnam for 6 months. Like Colleen, Glenys has a fine, powerful voice and on return from overseas became the lead singer with Melbourne pub band Graduate, one of the most popular pop/cabaret bands of the 70's, performing and recording with them from 1970-72 and then from 1975-78. She was also an original member of Brian Cadd's Bootleg Family and a member of The Gary Hyde Tradition for a short period. In between she pursued a solo career and released singles for RCA and did a number of radio and TV adds for Mike Brady and Peter Sullivan. Glenys has also provided backing vocals on most of Colleen's recordings but unfortunately for us, has now long retired from the music scene.
