In the mid 60s Michelle Kennedy was in a vocal trio, The Creations with Colleen Hewett. That group also backed various solo singers including Billy Adams and then Buddy England and thereby toured Australia. In April 1967 she joined a soul-based group, Dice, which were renamed as Laurie Allen Revue. In April 1967 Laurie Allen had told Go-Set:
"I realized just a three-piece group couldn't give me the sound I wanted, so I added two girl vocalists, Colleen Hewett and Kennedy, they are an act in themselves and combined to give us a distinctive sound which can't be done by any Australian group". The band released three singles and an EP on the Festival label. In October 1968 The Vibrants had a lineup change and the remaining members John Hossen, Barry Rogers and Marc Leon formed a new group called The Graduate. Don La Roche was the manager and added Michelle as lead vocalist. She stayed with the band for two years before announcing her departure in 1970.
Good memories of a very talented group 👍
