Croatian born singer/actress, who emigrated to Australia in 1961 from a refugee camp in Rome with her mother a concert pianist and her two brothers. Being only 13 years of age, school was the first consideration, and she was enrolled at Maroubra High School. There she started, not only to carve out a scholastic career, but also a career in show business. In addition to having performed as a singer from the time she was nine years old she was also an accomplished pianist and guitarist and was also taught ballet. Her steps to show business fame began with the winning of a scholarship at acting school. She signed a contract with Maurie Porter (Rob E.G.s father) who became her manager. The Go!! Show and a role in
They're a Weird Mob (1966) in which she sang the Italian love song ''I Kiss You And You Kiss Me'',
Skippy (1968) and
The Story of Making the Film They're a Weird Mob (1966). In 1966 she was signed to RCA on a five-year contract by Phyllis Rounce who was also Rolf Harris's manager at the time. She released a number of singles and an album on this label.
