Mopsie (Elizabeth Ward) trained as a musician at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music before beginning a long term career in the theatre. She was also known for her rollicking busking efforts around Western Sydney in the late 70s and early 80s. She was also a cabaret performer entering a long term association with The Q Theatre and Three Stage and being the right hand to artistic director Richard Brooks. Her EP, 'One Out' was top English DJ John Peel's favourite record for over a year in the late seventies/early eighties. Her LP 'Appearances' was a solo contribution in which she wrote the music, recorded and produced it and played all the instruments. She also distributed the record herself. This album was a feature album in the Triple J Studio Box of 50 LP's for around a year in 1981. She was quirky, intelligent, and a great pianist. Mopsie sadly died on 23 August 2007 making a journey to what she referred to as "a new beginning".
