Monique Wakelin was the keyboard player and founding member of Insurge, commonly typeset iNsuRge, a political industrial rock band founded in 1994 by singer-songwriter-guitarist Chris Dubrow (ex-Soulscraper). Their debut album 'Power to the Poison People' was released in August 1996, which reached #16 on the ARIA Albums Chart. They disbanded in the late 90s. Monique Wakelin died in 2018.
Monique, you were so so lovely. A force. I met you only a few times but those times were memorable. I wish you were still in the world.
