Cathy Courtenay was the bass player for Sydney surf punk/powerpop band Surfside Six who formed in the early 80s. Surfside Six released two singles on the Phantom label. The A side of their second single. ''Can’t You See The Sign'' sounds like something that could have been done by Radio Birdman, the Visitors or the early Hitmen – an ominous and intense song. She then joined psychedelic/post-punk band Belle Du Soir. They released a self-titled four track EP under the label M Squared.
Nice entry. The band was Surfside 6, Cathy wrote "Baci Baci" on the 2nd 45, and co-wrote "Cool in the Tube" as well as some of the tracks on the Belle du Soir ep
