CATHERINE WADE

Catherine Wade was a vocalist in 80s band Super K. The band played a few shows around Sydney, Australia in 1982, covering material that had enjoyed its heyday in the late Sixties and early Seventies - bands such as The 1910 Fruitgum Company, The Archies, Ohio Express, American Breed, and the Lemon Pipers. The band name was a tip of the hat to American production team and bubblegum purveyors Jerry Kasenetz and Jeff Katz, who had operated during their reign under the Super K moniker. She married Hoodoo Gurus drummer Mark Kingsmill in the 80s and became Catherine Kingsmill. These days Kingsmill runs three studios across the Hunter and is also a volunteer and teacher at the Maitland Regional Art Gallery.
