Eleanor Rodgers was the lead singer for 90s powerpop band, The Barbarellas. The bands' brand of punchy power pop/rock was indelibly stamped on the local Sydney music scene with the release of the 'Fringe' EP. The band enjoyed high rotation on Triple J with the track ''Depression'' and as a result, the record peaked at #2 on the ARIA Independent Charts. Exposure on a national level on Triple J and
Rage allowed the band to tour in and out of Sydney extensively with bands such as The Clouds, Ratcat, The Falling Joys, Died Pretty, All, The Celibate Rifles, and The Beasts of Bourbon.
