Barbara Lisyak (born in 1921) was one of the few women singers prominent in the early days of folk revival. As a member of the communist party and active in left wing choirs, she recorded as a solo artist on the Wattle label releasing ''The Old Woman and the Piggy / Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly'' and ''The Seven Joys of Mary / The Coventry Girl'' as singles on the old 78 rpm format and later performed and recorded as a member of the pioneering group The Rambleers with Chris Kempster, Denis Kevans, Alex Hood and Harry Kay . She and her husband John were central figures in the very early days of the folk revival in Sydney. She died in 2011 aged 90.
