Patricia Cook was an Australian folk singer associated particularly with traditional Australian songs and bush ballads. Patricia was a great exponent of the lyrical folk style. She was the wife of Australian novelist Kenneth Cook, best known for his novel Wake in Fright. In 1963 she appeared with folk singer Lionel Long on 'The Bold Bushrangers', a collection of Australian bushranging ballads written by Kenneth Cook. Patricia had originally sung the songs for ABC broadcasts. Her solo LP, 'Did You Know Them?', was released in 1968 and included Australian folk material such as ''Jim Jones'', ''Dan Morgan'', ''Eureka Lament'', ''The Bullocky'' and the title track. She also recorded an EP titled 'Songs of the Lachlan' with guitarist Don Andrews. Patricia Cook died suddenly in 2006.
