Sue Jennings had grown up in Melbourne and was a well-known singer with a number of jazz bands including the Yarra Yarra New Orleans Jazz Band. She married her future husband musician Charles Hall in 1967 and the pair moved to Perth in 1969 she became lead vocalist with band Gemini, who managed to have a hit on the national singles chart in 1969 with ''Sunshine River''. She and her husband moved to the UK in the 70s and they returned to Perth to form Soozy and The Detectives in 1974. Jennings now performs under the name Sue Richmond.
