In 1965 they were signed to the HMV label and recorded Paul's ''Wonderland Of Love and Dreams''. The Flanagan’s second record “Follow the Wind” was written by a very young Barry Gibb especially for the trio, no doubt he admired their work. The flip side “The Land of Beyond” became a bigger success and was voted by Radio 6IX Perth as the winner of one of the first, if not the first Radio award “The Golden Microphone” as the best song of 1966. Perth radio personality John Fryer presented the Award live on the Nine Network Bandstand. In 1973 they supported Helen Reddy in Sydney as part of her national tour. In 1978 they supported Shirley Bassey's Australian tour. In 1979 The Flanagan’s celebrated 20 years in show business on the Nine Network's Mike Walsh Show. They continued to record singles up until the early 70s. In 1991 they recorded an album with Judy Stone titled 'A Cowboys Sweetheart' on Rich River Records. Margaret died in 2025.
Dedicated to the lesser known women in the music industry from the 60s to the 90s.
