ANDREA VENDY

Andrea Vendy was the drummer with successful band The Mavis's for 14 years.

The Mavis's formed in 1987 around lead vocalist and guitarist Matt and his sister, Becky Thomas. Vendy played drums. Commercially, the band peaked in 1998-99 with the release of their album,Pink Pills. Hit single Cry climbed the charts and became the most-performed Australian song of 1999. The group split in 2001.

Vendy says she admires bands with five or six members who can stay together. "We'd been playing together since we were like 16 or something," she says, laughing. "So creatively we all really felt it was time to branch out and do something new." After The Mavis's split she formed The B-Dolls with Matt Thomas.
